The company, founded in 2003 in the United States, has gone from strength to strength since its inception. After a rather rocky start with the Tesla Roadster, the company has skyrocketed in terms of brand awareness and sales performance. As of today, Tesla Motors is the second largest pure electric automotive firm on the planet, with only three vehicles in its model range.

Since the biggest issue with owning an electric car is the amount of time required to recharge its batteries, Tesla has also spread out to manufacture and install a network of high power charging stations that the company refers to as “superchargers”. These superchargers are located at several points across the North American continent, Europe, and Asia for Tesla vehicle owners to plug in and recharge their cars quickly. In addition to cars, Tesla also produces myriad electricity storage products such as the Tesla Powerwall and Powerpack.

Tesla Sedans

The sedan portfolio of Tesla’s lineup comprises of two models, the Tesla Model S and the Tesla Model 3.

The Model S created waves when it rolled out in 2012. Not only did the car look totally unlike other eccentrically designed electric cars, it also was a joy to drive. The fact that it scored a perfect 5.0 in the safety tests conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration only added to the already high appeal that the Model S possessed.

The other sedan that will soon join the company’s stables is the Tesla Model 3. Production of this compact sedan is set to commence in the month of July 2017 and volume sales are slated to begin by September this year.

Tesla Crossovers

As of now, Tesla has only one vehicle in their SUV section: the Tesla Model X. This car is as packed with gadgets and gizmos as the other Tesla cars, and it even has superbly cool doors that remind you of a gullwing!

The Model X can be specified to be either a 5 seater, a 6 seater or a 7 seater vehicle. Depending on the trim level, the Model X has a range that will get you anywhere between 237 and 295 miles.

Tesla’s sales performance registered a decline of around 1,300 units in June 2017, compared to June 2016. However, the company has been posting healthy increases in annual sales figures consistently for the past few years.
