For those buyers who are concerned with range anxiety, BMW will also sell the i3 with a range extender pack that includes a small fuel tank and a tiny 2 cylinder, gasoline engine. The battery pack for the electric motor also supports fast charging.

Dynamic stability control, brake fade compensation, a brake drying mechanism, tyre pressure monitoring, automatic headlights and wipers, cornering brake control, ABS, multiple airbags, an SOS function, a rear view camera, automatic collision notification, dynamic traction control, and park distance control are some of the safety measures available on the i3.
