Dacia Stock Images – Hatchbacks, SUVs, and Station Wagons

Automobile Dacia is a well-known vehicle manufacturer from Romania. The company’s vehicles have been rebranded and sold in several other countries, and many of them have made waves for their tough build quality, peppy engine options, and the fact that they were easy on the wallet to buy and run. Dacia currently operates under the umbrella of the Renault Group.

Dacia came into existence over half a century ago in the year 1966 in a town called Mioveni, in Southern Romania. The company’s main production facility was set up in two years after Dacia’s incorporation in 1968, and it was decided that they would manufacture the Renault 8 small family car under license from Renault. The result was the Dacia 1100.

Towards the end of the year 1999, Dacia was acquired by Renault as the French car maker had the intention of making Romania the hub of their vehicle development in the Central and Eastern European regions.

Dacia Hatchbacks

Dacia’s hatchback series starts with the rather well known Dacia Sandero. The car can be bought at a very reasonable price of just under GBP 6,000 onwards, and for that money, you get a car that does its job well. Also, you may think that it will be very Spartan on the inside but actually, the Sandero has a reasonable amount of standard equipment. The Dacia Sandero is driven by a 1.0 liter gasoline engine that makes 77 hp.

For an additional GBP 3,000, Dacia will sell you a special trim level of the Sandero called the Sandero Stepway. The car comes with a body kit and a lot of additional extras such as roof rails, alloy rims and faux skid plates to give it a more butch and outdoorsy appearance.

Dacia SUVs

In the SUV segment of the company, we find one of their most well known vehicles, the Dacia Duster. This compact SUV is powered by a selection of engine options. You can choose from two gasoline engines that deliver 115 hp and 125 hp, or a diesel motor that produces 110 hp. Buyers can also choose between manual and automatic gearboxes, and front wheel drive or all wheel drive configurations. The Duster line-up starts from a price of just under GBP 9,500 onwards.

Dacia Station Wagons

As of now, the model range of Dacia includes only one station wagon, the Dacia Logan MCV. Buyers have the option of choosing between a 900cc or a 1.0L petrol engine that delivers 75 hp or 90 hp respectively, or a 1.5L diesel engine that produces 90 hp. Prices for the new Logan MCV start from just under GBP 7,300, but for GBP 11,495, Dacia has the Logan MCV Stepway on sale, which comes with certain cosmetic upgrades. In certain regions, the company also sells the Dacia Dokker panel van.

Dacia Sales and Special Offers

During the month of July 2017, Dacia sold 39,978 vehicles in the European car markets. Compared to the 36,403 vehicles that were sold in July 2016, sales of the company recorded a climb of 9.82%, which was an increase of 3,575 units. The company’s year to date (YTD) sales also grew by a similar number from 256,072 units in January-July 2016 to 280,769 vehicles during the same time frame of 2017.

Dacia provides financial services and leasing plans for purchasing their cars. Additionally, the company also does partial buybacks of existing vehicles of customers intending to purchase a new Dacia model. Also, the company has a scheme in partnership with Motability for disabled buyers where they offer a price guarantee on new cars that protect buyers from price fluctuations over a period of 3 months.
