Dodge was founded well over a century ago in the year 1900. When the company came into existence 117 years ago, it was known as the Dodge Brothers Company. They started out by manufacturing parts and components for other automotive firms in and around the Detroit area, before commencing actual vehicle production of their own in 1914.

The company had several notable moments in its history, including coming up with a new range of compact and midsize cars in the early 1980s as a response to the 1973 oil crisis in the U.S. These small, fuel efficient cars were responsible almost singlehandedly for rescuing Chrysler’s business from the brink of collapse.

Dodge Sedans

The sedan line-up of Dodge currently comprises of only one model, but it remains one of the best known models the company has ever created. The vehicle in question is the Dodge Charger and, for a starting price of just under $28,000, you can be a proud owner of one of these icons. Known for its evocative looks, the Charger was popularized even more than it already was thanks to the amount of time it spent appearing in movies and TV shows.

Dodge Sportscars

If the price of a Charger is a tad out of reach, but you don’t want a run-of-the-mill sedan, Dodge will sell you the brilliant Dodge Challenger instead for $26,995. The current generation Challenger is a proper muscle car, and buyers even have the option of ordering one with a V8 HEMI engine!

However, if you put the words “Dodge” and “sportscar” together, unquestionably, the first name that pops into mind is Viper. The Dodge Viper has become the most widely known Dodge product around the world, and not for no reason. The car is powered by a beast of an 8.4 liter V10 motor that kicks out 645 bhp and it has enough presence to make you stand out in practically any crowd.

Dodge SUVs and Minivans

As of 2017, Dodge has two SUVs and a minivan in its product portfolio. The first of their SUVs is the Dodge Journey, which can be specified as a 5 seater or a 5+2 seater SUV. The vehicle has an asking price of $21,195 and it has been in the showrooms since 2009. Prospective buyers of the Journey can choose from a variety of 4 cylinder and V6 engines.

The more popular and well known SUV from Dodge is the Durango, which can be yours for a little under $ 30,000. This full-sized SUV can easily cart around 7 people and can be bought either in its rear wheel drive only, or all wheel drive avatars. Being a big SUV, Dodge has appropriately given the Durango only V6 and HEMI V8 engine options.

Dodge also has a minivan in their model range, the Caravan. This vehicle, when launched in the early 80’s, was one of the first minivans to be launched in the American market and has continually been one of the best performing minivans in the U.S. in terms of sales.

Dodge Sales and Special Offers

Dodge has a selection of cash back offers, low APR financing and leasing plans tailor made for every vehicle in their model fleet to make the buying of these cars more affordable to a wider section of people.

During the month of June 2017, sales of Dodge vehicles dipped by 14%, compared to the figure registered in June last year, to 42,550 units in the United States market. Sales of the Challenger, Viper and Caravan went up but the Charger, Journey and Durango posted negative growth figures in June this year.
