The vehicle in question is the fantastic new Fiat 124, which was first launched in the mid 1960s. The car was an immediate hit as buyers were bowled over by its nimble handling, roomy interior and pliant ride quality. Under the long hood of the 124 is a 1.4 liter, 4 cylinder, turbocharged engine from Fiat’s MultiAir series that delivers 164 hp and 184 hp of torque. A 6 speed manual transmission is standard and buyers can also opt for a 6 speed automatic gearbox. Power is routed to the wheels via a limited slip differential. For improved handling, the suspension setup that the Fiat 124 uses are Bilstein selective damping shocks.

Safety features in the new avatar of the Fiat 124 include multiple airbags located throughout the interior of the car, automatic headlight clusters with integrated headlamp washers, blind spot monitoring system, a reverse parking assist system with an integrated rear view camera, optional Brembo brakes, rain-sensing wipers, tyre pressure monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, electronic stability control, and so on.
