GMC is one of those vehicle manufacturers that belongs to the centenarian club. The company was established 106 years ago in the year 1911, just before the advent of the First World War. The company’s name is an acronym of the General Motors Truck Company and, as the name states, they focus only on making pick-up trucks, SUVs and other utility vehicles. GMC soon earned its reputation of building reliable vehicles by having its trucks driven across the entire width of the United States. The company also produced well over half a million trucks to be used by the U.S. military in World War II.

The GMC product portfolio starts with the Terrain crossover, which is priced at an amount a little above the $24,000 mark. Power for the GMC Terrain comes from either a 2.4 liter, 4 cylinder engine or a 3.5 liter V6. For an additional $5,000, the GMC Acadia will be available for you. Buyers of this vehicle can choose between a 2.5 liter, 4 cylinder motor and a 3.6 liter V6 engine. Both these vehicles are available with the optional Denali packs as well, and they’re priced at $34,275 and $45,070 respectively.
GMC SUVs
The GMC SUV fleet currently comprises of their massively popular Yukon family.
The most affordable one is the standard Yukon that you can purchase for $48,530. This vehicle can also be bought with its Denali trim package included for a sum that’s just short of $66,000.
Next in line is the larger and more imposing GMC Yukon XL. This extra large SUV, along with its huge 5.3 liter V8 motor can be in your garage for $51,230, and if you want the Denali pack for it, it’ll cost and additional $17,500.
GMC Pick-up Trucks
Pick-up trucks are GMC’s bread and butter vehicles.
The easiest way to own one of them is to buy a GMC Canyon for just under $21,000. Its Denali version will set you back by $39,200.
For a proper sized truck, go in for one of the four trim levels of the Sierra 1500. It’s 6.2 liter, 420 hp V8 will give you plenty of oomph for its asking price of $28,400.
If the 1500 is a tad too small, GMC also has the Sierra 2500HD. This version is larger than the 1500 and has a more powerful 6.6 liter V8 diesel engine that pumps out 445 hp. A 2500HD will cost you just over $34,000. If you need even more size, the Sierra 3500HD could be the truck for you. It’s driven by the same engine as the 2500HD, but it has a trailer hauling capacity of 23,300 lbs. All of GMC’s pick-up trucks are available with the optional Denali packs as well.
GMC Vans
The van section of GMC’s model range has only one model, the Savana, but it is available in multiple variations. For prices that range between $29,550 and $33,140, the GMC Savana can be ordered as a Cargo version (which is windowless), a Passenger version (which has windows) and a Cutaway version which only has a cab for the driver and passenger.
GMC Sales and Offers
The overall sales of GMC in the previous month didn’t come up to the numbers posted in July 2016. The company’s sales dropped by 7.3% to 47,412 vehicles in July 2017 compared to the same month of last year. Although many of their vehicles saw a decline in sales, some vehicles did perform quite well.
During the aforementioned time period, sales of the Acadia and Savana went up by respectable figures. Also, even though the overall sales of the Yukon and Sierra went down, the Sierra had the highest average transaction prices (ATPs) in the full-size truck segment and the Yukon’s retail sales witnessed its best July sales month ever.
