The Civic can either be equipped with a 2.0 liter, 4 cylinder gasoline engine that develops 158 hp; or a 1.5 liter, 4 cylinder, turbocharged gasoline motor that puts out 174 hp; or the top of the line 1.5 liter, 4 cylinder, turbocharged engine that produces 205 hp, which powers the range-topping Si trim level.

Apart from the Civic Si, which comes only with a 6 speed manual gearbox, the other trim levels can be ordered with either the same 6 speed manual gearbox or a continuously varying transmission (CVT).
