Jaguar Cars, the makers of the Jaguar XE, had come ever so close to shutting shop, but after the company was taken over by the Tata Group, an Indian conglomerate, they have been rolling out stellar cars one after the other. The modern day Jaguar vehicles look super cool both inside and out, they’re packed with tech, and are oh-so-charismatic to drive.

However, they remained out of reach of a large section of car buyers. To address this issue, Jaguar brought out a car that packs in everything good about Jaguar into a package that doesn’t demolish your bank account. Enter the Jaguar XE.

The XE, even though it sits on the bottom rung of the Jaguar product ladder, is still quite well packaged.

The car comes with a 12.3 inch fully digital instrument binnacle, a 10 inch InControl Pro touchscreen infotainment system, an 825 watt Meridian sound system, a navigation module, and a smartphone app that can remotely start the vehicle and set the air conditioning along with displaying several vehicle parameters such as lock status, parking location and fuel level.

Jaguar has also equipped the XE with onboard WiFi, front seats that can be heated or cooled, a gesture-controlled boot lid, cooled rear seats, an automatic climate control system that detects factors such as mist, the sun’s position and interior air quality; and alloy wheels that range in size from 17 inches to 20 inches.
Jaguar XE Powertrain
Engine options for the Jaguar XE include two gasoline engines and one diesel engine. The least powerful motor is a 2.0 liter, 4 cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine that produces 180 hp. Next up is a 2.0 liter, 4 cylinder, turbocharged gasoline engine that is tuned to make either 247 hp or 296 hp depending on the trim level.

The most powerful engine the XE comes with is a 3.0 liter, supercharged V6 gasoline motor that delivers 380 hp and 332 lb. ft. of torque. Regardless of the engine option chosen by the buyer, the XE is equipped only with an 8 speed automatic transmission.
Customers can also specify whether they wish their XE to have a rear wheel drive or all wheel drive layout.
Safety
Adaptive headlights with washers, adaptive dynamics, a head-up display, rear cross traffic alert, multiple airbags, blind spot monitoring, closing vehicle detection, adaptive cruise control, surround view cameras, lane departure warning, parking assist, emergency braking, and a reversing camera are all part of the safety kit on the Jaguar XE.
