Buyers of the Mitsubishi Outlander have only two engine options to select from. All trim levels apart from the top-end one are powered by a 2.4 liter, 4 cylinder, turbocharged motor that puts out 166 hp and 162 lb. ft. of torque. This engine is hooked up to a CVT automatic gearbox.
The top of the line GT trim has a 3.0 liter V6 under its hood that generates 224 hp and 215 lb. ft. of torque. The drive is harnessed and sent to the wheels by a 6 speed automatic transmission, which the driver can control using the steering mounted paddles.

On the safety front, Mitsubishi has given the Outlander SUV heated wing mirrors, rain sensing wipers with an included de-icer, a reversing camera and an optional multi-view camera, multiple airbags, lane departure warning, forward collision mitigation, rear cross traffic alert, hill start assist, ABS with EBD, brake assist, tyre pressure monitoring, blind spot monitoring, and traction control with active stability control.
