Nissan Leaf Electric Car
Nissan Leaf Review: Never Stop for Gas Again!
Environmental consciousness is higher now than it has ever been in the whole of human history. People are noticing the effects of climate change first hand and are determined to do something about it before it crosses the point of no return. One of the direct results of this changing mind-set is the spike in sales of electric and hybrid vehicles. And leading from the front in this department is the Nissan leaf.

This vehicle takes a departure in design from the usual, radically futuristic looking electric cars and goes more in favour of a traditional hatchback design to make it appear more familiar and appealing to car buyers.

Features
Although it is an electric car, Nissan has sought to bring the equipment list to a level that is on par with those of traditional hatchbacks. The car comes with an on-board charger that can deliver up to 6.6 kW, a hybrid heating system, normal and quick charge ports, heated seats, a 7 inch touchscreen, and brake energy recuperation that uses energy that would’ve been otherwise lost as heat, to recharge the battery pack.

Depending on the variant, the Leaf comes with either 16 or 17 inch alloy rims. Also included in the list of gizmos are automatic LED headlight clusters, a photovoltaic solar panel on top of the rear spoiler that can power a few gadgets inside the car to reduce the load on the main battery pack, a rear diffuser and a few other features to increase the aerodynamics of the car and make it more efficient, an infotainment system with an in-built navigation console, HomeLink, bluetooth connectivity, automatic climate control and much more.
There is also the NissanConnect feature that can remotely monitor the battery status, commence charging and even turn on the heating or air conditioning inside the Leaf before you arrive.

Nissan Leaf Under The Hood
The Nissan Leaf gets its drive from an electric motor that delivers 107 hp. This AC motor is hooked up to a 30 kWh lithium ion battery pack that is good enough to provide the Leaf with a driving range of up to 107 miles. This may rule out long journeys as the car will need to be recharged in between, but it is ideal for city commutes as the cost you incur to recharge using electricity is extremely low when compared to filling up a tank of gas.
Safety
Safety has not been scrimped on as the Nissan Leaf gets hill start assist, ABS with electronic brake force distribution (EBD), brake assist, an auto dimming cabin rear view mirror to reduce the glare of headlights from vehicles following you, tyre pressure monitoring, an optional surround view camera, multiple airbags and traction control.
