Peugeot probably has the most interesting history among all car manufacturers on this planet. After starting out as a coffee mill, the company has, at various points during its life, been the manufacturers of bicycles, salt and pepper grinders, steel, apparel, and even ammunition for the military.

Peugeot came into existence in 1810, but it was only in 1889 that the company sold their first car, which was a steam powered car that rode on three wheels. A year later in 1890, the company brought out its first car that was powered by an internal combustion engine.

The Peugeot range starts at just a touch under GBP 9,000 with the company’s smallest hatchback, the 108. The Peugeot 108 hatch is available as both a 3 door and a 5 door sedan, with the 5 door version costing a premium of GBP 2,000 over the price of a 3-door 108. Powering this car is either a 1.0L, 3 cylinder, 68 hp engine or a slightly larger 1.2L motor that makes 82 bhp.

Next up is the Peugeot 208, prices of which commence from GBP 14,465 onwards. Apart from the two engines found in the smaller 108, the Peugeot 208 provides it buyers with several more options to choose from. The power outputs of engines for the 208 range from 68 hp to 208 hp. This vehicle is also available in both 3 and 5 door guises.

The larger Peugeot 308 hatchback will cost you GBP 18,570, and for an extra GBP 1,000, the company will sell you a station wagon version of the same vehicle. The engines that can be selected by the buyers range in power output all the way from 99 hp to 272 hp.

In addition to all these mainstream models, for just under GBP 16,000, you can own a Peugeot iOn. This fully electric car still looks and drives like a traditional hatchback, and it has several thoughtful touches to maximize its range. Peugeot Crossovers and SUVs

In the segment of crossovers, the most affordable option is the Peugeot 2008, which can be purchased at GBP 16,300. This chic crossover has several engines on offer to choose from, with power outputs varying from 96 hp to 114 hp.

The more expensive Peugeot 3008 has even more style to boast of, and similar to the 2008, it also spoils its prospective buyers for choice when it comes to powertrain. Buyers can choose from engines ranging between 99 hp and 181 hp, and prices for this vehicle start from just under GBP 22,500 onwards.

As of now, the company only has one sedan in its showrooms, the Peugeot 508. Peugeot’s model range also includes three commercial vehicles: the GBP 16,000 Peugeot Partner Tepee (which will soon be joined by its electric version), the GBP 31,000 Peugeot Traveller series, and the GBP 24,500 Peugeot Expert Combi van. These vehicles have been designed to be as roomy as possible and their loading areas have been given high levels of security to minimize chances of breaking in.

Peugeot Sales and Special Offers

Peugeot has reported robust sales figures consistently this year. The company sold 63,224 units in July 2016 and it rose by over 10% to 69,578 vehicles in July 2017. Peugeot also provides APR financing plans, leasing options and part-exchange deals to make the process of buying a new Peugeot vehicle easier.
